Daryn Strauss is a Writers Guild Award nominated writer, producer, actress, showrunner, content strategist, and a self-proclaimed “digital chick.”

As a writer, she was nominated for a Writers Guild Award in 2012 for her first internet series, the dramedy Downsized, which she created, executive produced, directed, and co-starred in. Daryn was also a contributing writer on the Emmy Award winning interactive series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries.

As a producer and content strategist, she has worked with many of the major players in online video including AOL, PBS, Collective Digital Studio, Pemberley Digital, Lin Digital, DigitasLBi, Astronauts Wanted, Sony, and VProud, producing original series, live events, and interactive experiences. She has also worked with some of the top global brands and ad agencies developing successful digital and social content distribution.

She oversaw digital programming and content strategy for “MAKERS: Women Who Make America” for AOL & PBS, leading the content strategy that caused MAKERS to go viral, and producing their red carpet premiere at Lincoln Center.

She also worked with vine stars Nash Grier, Cameron Dallas, Lauren Giraldo, and other social media stars for Astronauts Wanted, a venture between Former MTV Chief Judy McGrath & Sony Music.

She has served as a producer of the DigitasLBi NewFront in 2012, 2014 & 2015, an industry-leading live annual event which has featured talent such as Piers Morgan, Kristin Chenoweth, Rashida Jones, and Meredith Vieira and c-level business and marketing leaders. She has also worked on NewFront presentations for Lin Digital and Collective Digital Studio.

Her latest series “Weight,” a dramedy about life after extreme reality TV weight loss starring three-time Emmy Winner Martha Byrne launched to 2.5 million Twitter impressions during its online premiere and has received overwhelmingly positive critical acclaim. The pilot was directed by veteran primetime network TV producer/ director Frederick King Keller (Blue Bloods, 24).

She also has a teen dramedy in development.
